I’m a huge fan of liquid lipsticks. So when I saw the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks at Voluminous, I knew I just had to try one of the amazing shades. Jeffree Star is known for it’s bold colors, but I decided to go for a more neutral shade:”I’m Nude”.
“This light-tan based nude can be wore alone or with your fav lip liner. She’s versatile.
Our liquid lipstick goes on opaque, dries completely matte and stays on for hours! This product is 100% vegan & cruelty-free! (tips before use: exfoliate then apply to bare lips! avoid food with oil… and no making out, kisses are ok!)
Also: Paraben & Gluten-Free / 0.19 oz.” source: Jeffreestarcosmetics.com
Packaging:
I likje the packaging, it’s simple, bright and cute. The lipstick is a bit smaller and chunkier than most liquid lipsticks.I like that you can clearly see the colour of the lipstick inside.
The applicator was new for me, it has a whole in the middle and instead of a round applicator it has more of a flat cut to it. (I have no idea how to describe it better, but you get the idea right?) The whole in the applicator is to pick up quite a bit of product, which I like, but I can imagine that not everybody is a fan.It applies easy and sharp, but due to the amount of product, a lip brush can be needed.
I’m Nude:
A very light nude color, full coverage. I really had to get used to the look of this shade, it feels a tad bit too light in combination with my skin color. But maybe that’s just personal taste?
Formula:
The formula is creamy and thick, but feels great. Light and not at all sticky. I’ve never used a velour textured lipstick before, but already after using it for two weeks, I can say I’m a fan.
Lasting:
The lipstick takes about a minute to dry, which means there’s time to correct, but once it sets, it stays. Watch out with greasy food, because it will wear away the lipstick in the middle.
Nothing to worry about though, this lipstick is easy to fix up. Just add another layer, it doesn’t clump or feel chalky as longs as you don’t add too much product.
The wear time is about 8-9 hours as long as you’re careful when eating and drinking, and easy to remove.
‘I’m Nude’: the color looks pretty nice on these pictures, but in normal lighting I feel it’s just a bit too light. It’s a lot lighter than my natural lip colour.
Price:
€22,95
A bit more expensive then the other liquid lipsticks I own, but worth it. I would definitely order more colors if they were available here in the Netherlands.
